Organization: Internet-based company that works as a link between investors and small companies to help their funding and growth.

Challenge: The client’s request was to develop a logo with a certain level of the seriousness, dynamism, technology, and innovation. It was to appear mainly online, as well as on business cards and collateral materials.

Solution: A variety of initial concepts were explored with this project as well. A few pages in my notebook were filled with letter forms and icons that spoke the important words I was given: seriousness, dynamism, technology, and innovation. The concept that stood out was the one with interconnected letters.

I separated the ‘in’ for two reasons: to play on the word ‘investor’, and to symbolize how small companies can bring funding ‘in’. The three dots moving into the letter ‘o’ also ties in with the concept of bringing funding ‘in’ with meaning and with colour. The two shades of blue were chosen to represent professionalism, seriousness, and trust as an internet company.
