Logo and Signage: The Bag Age

Organization: Classy bag store filled with earth-tones, antique furniture, and beautiful product lighting.
Challenge: The owner’s specific request was to play on the iconic ‘evolution’ image and reflect the store’s name visually.
Solution: My solution was to use four figures overall, and place a beautiful and successful female silhouette in the fourth position, making sure she was noticeably taller than the other figures. I illustrated the figures to customize them and make them appear clean at various sizes.
To get deeper meaning from the evolution imagery and the brand name, I showed the evolution of bags themselves, from the ancient pouch carried by the ape, to the modern handbag worn by the woman.
The bags and brand name were accentuated with the single natural colour choice. I chose the main typeface for it’s flowing and stylish features, and the secondary typeface was great accompaniment. The slanted feel of both fonts, plus their contrast of thick and thin, made them fit together perfectly.
